Hey, just moved to Minneapolis from Olymipa, Washington. Been commuting and recreating on bike for quite a while. Unfortunately, I didn't think ahead concerning the issue of getting my bike on the plane. So now I'm in this city and I've decieded to build a fixie. Really excited about it, been wanting to for a while. Never built one before, although I have maintained my bikes and patched them together as they grew old. Just figuered I'd join one of these in case I had any questions.

What were you riding before? A fix is great around here, since it's so flat, and there's so much crap on the roads during winter...

Rode a frankenstien style 12 speed, it whooped ass on the road, real tank. Also had this mountain bike by schwinn, rode nice on the trails, although the rear deraliure exploded on several occasions.
