New member here. Haven't ridden a bike in a few years. Was one of the original BMX guys in the 60s and 70s. Rode mountain bikes in the 80s and 90s. Now the doc says get a bike and start riding it. So the wife and I bought a couple of fixies. Might as well, don't have to adjust anything. We aren't going to be going banzai down the trails, got dirt bikes for that. And that's about it.

I actually prefer Jocko's, and Hitching Post, but that is prohibitively expensive, maybe once every year. Jocko's is affordable. Also, Rib Line in Arroyo Grande is good too. Quite a few good BBQ places around here.

Welcome corndog, its always good to have "experienced" riders around here. Mainly a Mountain biker here, Vegas area.

Did you ever ride with Tracer Finn in the 70's, I think he was a CW rider?

No, we were the guys with the Schwinns (if you had the money or parents that would buy it), Huffys and a few other brands that escape me right now. They weren't BMX bikes like they've got now, they were regular stingray bikes that we jumped, raced, and generally, beat the hell out of. I guess I can admit it now, the statute of limitations has probably run out for bicycle scammery, but we'd take other kids bicycles, get them out into the woods of Fort Ord, swap out our bent wheels and whatnot, and then put them back. We were dickheads. I think I've outgrown that stage. It was about 1972 or so.

Welcome to bikeforums Robert! I happen to be a usual and moderator over at the SS/FG subforum in these parts. Please feel free to ask questions there if need be, just remember to read the "start here" thread along with the materials provided inside and be sincere.

Otherwise, my private message box is open to anything that might pertain to your fixie or track related interests.

1972 is a great time period where I can laugh looking back and know I won't be trying that at my current age. The music rocked, nothing comparable to it now.
