Greetings from RI, USA!

Just over a year ago I had stroke after a short intense interval ride along the coast of Narragansett Bay. I'll be 56 this month (Goddess willing) & just ordered a new Calfee Tetra, since I lost the 10 pounds I told myself I had to lose before I'd get myself a new bike. While in Intensive Care last year the night after the stroke, the nurses woke me up to see if I was OK. Seems my heart rate was hovering around 38 & they didn't know what to make of it. Annoyed (they wake you up about every hour or two, anyway...) I told 'em I was sleeping. Anyway, the doc's cannot figure out what might have caused the stroke. Maybe just a wake up call... Wave if you see me on my brand new nude Tetra!

Be careful what you wish for ;-} To explain would require a different forum, perhaps. I am a pagan, and animist by inclination. Others might say "Inshallah", or "God willing". One thing I learned (graduating high school during the height of the Viet Nam war), was not to discuss religion or politics unnecessarily, or I'd continue on, discussing the ancient gods (& goddesses) like Isis, Kali, & the moon goddess in her various incarnations. So... anyone up for a Campy/Shimano debate??

Wow, very scary. Did the docs give you any specific instructions about riding/exercise now? Were you on the East Bay bike path when it happened last year ?
