Novice - Ready to Learn
Hello, world! My name is David Rose, I'm twenty years old and became interested in bicycle maintenance and repair only a year and a half ago when I got a flat tire and had disasterous time replacing it. Since then, bicycle's have become something of a hobby of mine. Because the only bicycle I have is my brother's, any serious work has been prolonged.
However, I've recently purchased my own Mountain bike from a second-hand store, and my ambitions are quite lofty. It's in rideable condition presently, but I hope to rebuild it top to bottom -- and eventually even repaint it. That's where Bike Forums comes in.
Because my experience is so limited, I look to rely on these forums through my eventual trials and errors. Thanks in advance for any and all helpfulness! It sure is appreciated.

Hi David, glad that you chose to join us here at BF. Our Mechanics forum and Mountain Bike Forum sound like the best places for your needs. The mechanical part is straight forward and the members here are knowledgeable and helpful. A good maintenance handbook, Like Park Tool Company's, Big Blue Book, will help you with repairs, there are many other titles as well as the members here to help you.
