finding out how hard it is to make a reliable 48cc conversion out of an old classic bike, mine is a 1967 raleigh sprite. I have had many people stop Me on the street and say how cool it is, but its a Frankenstein now because of many design constraints and pulling parts off other old bikes for parts. On the flip side I have had one classic bike lover tell Me it was a sin to do this project even though I tried to keep it as original as possible .I am interested in hearing from others that are interested in motor assisted bikes as well as anyone that knows for sure what is legal in Colorado as far as these bikes are concerned, certainty a gray area as far as the information I have been given ie motor assisted vs motorized ect. I must say even though its been a tuff project it sure is a gas to ride until the chain breaks hence the unreliability factor ,have been searching for a heavy duty bmx chain of solid stainless steel or nickle alloy(maybe titanium may be needed ,lol) construction, however most bike shops have no idea what I need,I have been thru 4 chains so far..Any info will be appreciated from other motor assisted bike enthusiasts in regards to what has worked for them thanks......WB5k
