Hello- I've been thinking of getting a bike again for a while, and finally bit the bullet a few days ago. I want to ride 90% for fun and if it gives me some exercise, well, bonus
. Most riding (at first) will be around town in bike lanes, parks, and paved bike paths, with occasional errand running, working up to (hopefully) a ride around Red Rock Loop.
I wish I'd known about this forum earlier, before I bought my bike. Hopefully it was a good choice-with a limited budget, buying Ebay or 2nd hand still wasn't a good option, as I know very little about bikes. In any event I've had a grin on my face since I got it- a 2013 Bianchi Milano Dama in celeste (of course) with a 50cm (?) anyway, the larger frame. I have a steep learning curve to look forward to, but so far I have learned quick-release wheels and seat and rudimentary adjustment to Shimano gears. Also that you truly don't forget how to ride. Riding well may take a while, but I'm having a ball.
Hopefully you all can steer me to appropriate forums for my bike, riding skills (or lack thereof, lol) and aspirations. Looking forward to learning all the possibilities!

Welcome to BF! It sounds like you might be interested in perusing the Bicycle Mechanics forum. Aside from that... I don't know if you're >50 years of age, but there's a Fifty Plus forum that (if you're in that group) might be of interest, too. Above all else, though -- enjoy your new bike!
Welcome to Bike Forums. Bianchi is an excellent brand.
Post pics of your bike when you get a chance.
Have fun.

. After having a look, this 50 Plus forum is one of the few I don't mind being part of (grin). Definitely not old fogeys. I can learn how to maintain my bike on the Mechanics forum Quote:

Thanks, RonH! It's good to hear that! Not sure what she's classed as tho- commuter? hybrid? neo-retro cruiser? Have to get some pics when I'm out for a ride. At this point, the only safe place I have for storing is the living room, lol. I have to either clean out my walk-in closet, or find a wall rack a la Seinfeld.Originally Posted by RonH
