Long Haired Hippy on a Bike
Hello!
I'm new to biking as an adult but have already gathered a few bikes for myself and my fiance.
I'm hoping to loose more weight and gain better fitness... and maybe cut down car use if at all possible....even in winter. And enjoy the world, of course.
I'm also hoping to learn a few bike repair tips, tool advice... you get the idea.
Happy to be here!

Thanks.
None of them are new, heh, but most of them work!
That third one is part of why I joined.

You mean you don't shave all your hair! Some bikers do to save a 100 grams??? Welcome, long haired hippy. I'm a long haired hippy, at heart. And, I found I love working on bicycles. Gotta wonder about your user name
See you in the forums.

Man, I WISH I lived in one of those hippy places. I have been to Ithaca before though.. very nice place. The name fits though... I'd have to braid my hair to get it shorter then hip and... I vote Green, do the three R's (reduce, reuse, recycle), garden and so on. All the good stuff. Oh, and I own three pairs of Birks. I think that throws me safely in the hippy camp even if I missed the 60s by a decade or two.
I wish I was musical. I've tried but although I'm not tone deaf I don't have much of a sense of rhythm.
Bikers really do shave their heads for that reason?? I just bun it up.. gets it up safely and keeps it out of the muck. The user name is an adaptation of Queen Anne's Revenge, Blackbeard's flagship. Pirates are fun and I really liked the Flogging Molly song when I came up with the name years ago.
