Hello from Natick, MA
Howdy. I found my way here by way of a shaving forum, Badger and Blade.
I started biking about 15 years ago after being told my knees could no longer handle running. At the time I rode my brother's old mountain bike. After a year or so I bought a Specialized Allez, which I still have. After moving to the SF Bay Area 9 years ago, I acquired a Parlee Z4, which became my main bike until back issues forced me to stop riding a few years ago. I got a Gazelle Opafiets for short rides, but I miss the speed and freedom of a long ride on my Parlee.
My back has been doing better, and I'm starting to ease back in, riding my Allez on a trainer once or twice a week to test the effect on my back. If it works, great. If not, I may start looking at more upright bikes that are lighter and more maneuverable than my Dutch bike, or maybe even recumbents.
Anyway, that's my story. Hopefully I'll be back to regular riding by springtime.
