Cheers from Virginia

Hey guys,
I have referenced the forum many times before joining. Biking has been a joy of mine since I was a small child. Road bikes and fixed gear has been a great outlet for me recently.(the last three to four years.) Glad to be a part of the forum!

The hills aren't too much worse than back home (West Michigan). I hear Texas is wonderfully flat.

Flat roads with coastal winds.

My last ride was 100 miles in 24 mph winds.

That sounds brutal. My last ride was just my ten mile commute to work. I'll take a few hills.

Took me two days to recover. Had two loaded panniers on the back.

Training for a 1100 mile tour next March.

Going to take a train from Houston to El Paso, then ride back home.

That sounds like a hell of an adventure. I would love to do something like that. I'm not quite sure on a destination.
