Memphis Home of Elvis and the Blues
In the Market for a new bike. I am 56 and only had two bikes my entire life. The first was a Univega I purchased out of college and my second was a Specialized Rockhopper son has taken to school. I am a man without a bike. I love going into LBS and looking at the eye candy. After much thought and research I believe I have decided to get a Surly Long Haul Trucker. The 2014 comes in a light grey/white and a black model. The black looks sweet but I am a little board with it..I believe I can order a blue velvet frame off the internet but I also like the army green 2008 model. Question for ya...Is the 2008 frame different from the newer frames? What about the 2012, 2013's or are they basically the same...thanks

Welcome to BF! If I was in your position, I’d get the new one and let my color preferences take a back seat in the decision-making process. Just a personal thing, but… I’d prefer a new bike over a 5 year-old one that was in a color I liked better.
