a lovely hello from los angeles (*tipping hat*)
let me preface this post by saying (and i will say it again, promise)...
never fall in love with a messenger! they are much too mysterious and complicated. yet, my boy did do something for me--turned me on to urban biking. so thanks, mister, wherever you are.
so nice to have found this web site... yay!
p.s. has anyone been on one of the bicycle kitchen's midnight ridazz thingies? what about critical mass LA? i've been wanting to check them out, but haven't gotten around to either of them. thanks!!

Hi veloiseau, welcome. Mystery can be a great source of spice in your life. One must just decide if the tradeoff is worth it. Hey, the mystery and complication led to a love for biking so it can't be all bad. Did you ever notice that sometimes the best piece of music is when you don't know where the musician is going next. Too much in our lives is too predictable and it leaves us too often in the midst of a big, aaaaaahhhhhh, ::stretch, stretch:: yawn. Jeff

He may seem mysterious, but after you get to know him you may find that buried deep within the mystery is *not much*. And then you'll be stuck washing his socks, because he's too dysfunctional to do it himself.

Greetings from PA to LA!
Just out of curiosity, does your member name translate as "bicycle bird"? I seem to recall a Garneau jersey from a few years ago, and I think it was named "L'oiseau". It featured a bicyclist giving an internationally-recognized one finger salute to a motorist.
Then again, I could just be hallucinating from the mushrooms I had on my pizza at lunch.

to jabike: haha... thanks... yes, i agree--mystery can be quite conducive to "spice"... however, this particular boy was just way too much to handle. he's so hot though! grr... with his ability to stand on his back tire at stoplights, and his cropped Dickies, and his beat-up all-black Converse... (*sigh*)
to blackberry: amen!
to the fixer: yes, he's been wanting to get a fixed gear for(freaking)EVER! phew, he can't afford it at the moment.
to higher ground: tee hee hee... so glad you got the "velo" and "oiseau" thing. yes, it does mean "bicycle bird." however, if I was really trying to be grammatically correct en français, it should be "oiseauvelo," because adjectives come after nouns (in most cases). oh well. c'est la vie! haha... that was so cheeseball.

Well, don't worry about the French grammar. My knowledge of the language is virtually nonexistent beyond "hello", "good morning", "good evening", "good bye", "please", "thank you", "where is", and "ham and cheese sandwich".
