Hello from SW Ohio

My name is Sam - I recently moved to southwest Ohio. Before moving here I had not been on a bike in over two years, but since there's no public transit around here and I don't want to buy a car at the moment, I bought myself a Trek 7.2 from the LBS, and put some SPD pedals and thinner tires on it. I have been commuting to/from work (about 5 minutes) and been going for easy rides to the nearby state park (about 5 miles to get there, and a 5 mile loop around the park) on weekends.

Although I've ridden a bike on and off before, this is the first time I've done so regularly, and not just for 'fun'.

Of course, all these new experiences have raised a bundle of questions, and my Google searches would usually bring up a BikeForums thread as the first hit. So, it looks like this is the place to be!

Cheers Sam, welcome to Bike Forums!

To err is human. To moo is bovine.

Who is this General Failure anyway, and why is he reading my drive?

There's a lot of good places to ride here.
