Howdy! :)
Hi All,
A quick introduction, I'm new to cycling and appear to have developed the bug. I have picked myself up and old Giant Cadex 980c, which I realise is now considered vintage, but thoroughly enjoying it!
I have always been into my fitness, so this is a new challenge which I think will probably develop into a few triathlons (and if I can make the vintage bike competitive even better!) and I'm looking forward to many more happy miles moving forwards.
The forum already looks like a great infomine for anything bike related, and I have been using the search function to its fullest.
Take care all,
Tom

Hi there, welcome. for the bike, googling it shows early 90's, for the UK scene, it would be considered retro still, being carbon/alu lugs, it will take a long time for it to go truly vintage. As long as it is mechanically/structurally sound, who really cares if it's old, just ride and enjoy it.

Cheers dude, I'm currently doing a 26mile daily round trip on it to Farnham and back, which I am enjoying a lot. Running gear is old, but other than that the bike seems pretty sound! 1991 according to the frame on it, with no crashes (been in the family the whole time) and pretty much all original parts!
