Hi!
Hello everyone!
I'm coming back to cycling after about 10 years of doing other stuff. There was a time when I put in 150 miles per week on the road and in the dirt. I loved every mile and I'd really like to get back into riding like that again if i can find a balance between riding, family and work. I'd be interested in hearing how people are able to get serious miles in while also having time for family and work. I would also really like to meet local riders (Butte county, CA), road, MTB, I don't care. I'm excited to be here 😀 Thanks! |
Welcome aboard :).
Not familiar with CA geography, so you'll be sure to want to check out our Regionals and there you'll find both the NorCal and SoCal forums. |

welcome and enjoy your return.

Welcome and enjoy! You may have trouble getting that much time but what I do is take what I can get. ! week could be 50, another could be 200. I just kinda roll with it.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!
I have a feeling sleeping in on my days off will be replaced with early weekend morning rides if I want to get some decent rides in. Not that its a bad thing! See ya on the road and trails! |

I'd like to start commutting eventually, but my commute is 25 miles each way with around 2500ft of climbing. Right now, I'm in no shape to do that. I can see riding the commute a few times per month once I get my fitness upto a level high enough to where I'd be able to get home before my wife sent out search and rescue.;)

Check in with the Commuting forum. Lots of long distance commuters split their commute between bicycling and bus or train riding.
