Hi!
Hello everyone!
I'm coming back to cycling after about 10 years of doing other stuff. There was a time when I put in 150 miles per week on the road and in the dirt. I loved every mile and I'd really like to get back into riding like that again if i can find a balance between riding, family and work.
I'd be interested in hearing how people are able to get serious miles in while also having time for family and work. I would also really like to meet local riders (Butte county, CA), road, MTB, I don't care.
I'm excited to be here 😀
Thanks!

Welcome and enjoy! You may have trouble getting that much time but what I do is take what I can get. ! week could be 50, another could be 200. I just kinda roll with it.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!
I have a feeling sleeping in on my days off will be replaced with early weekend morning rides if I want to get some decent rides in. Not that its a bad thing!
See ya on the road and trails!

Bike commuting to work is a great way to get in more base miles or serious miles if the ride is long enough and has a few hills/climbs.

I'd like to start commutting eventually, but my commute is 25 miles each way with around 2500ft of climbing. Right now, I'm in no shape to do that. I can see riding the commute a few times per month once I get my fitness upto a level high enough to where I'd be able to get home before my wife sent out search and rescue.

Check in with the Commuting forum. Lots of long distance commuters split their commute between bicycling and bus or train riding.
