Yes, they do rule! I had considered a recumbent as I can not sit a bike saddle, but I wanted to be able to haul my dog around with me. I bought the Rhoades Car and have never regretted it! I had the local welding shop make a bin for the back for the dog to ride in. It weighs a ton, but the weight doesn't seem to slow me down. Even with my dog in the back.
Here is a pic of it:
Glad to know I am not the only one too! I have been checking bike sites for more information but there just aren't that many of us out there it seems!

Here is a copy of a picture of me on my
new Rhoades Car....
It ain't fast, but the WOW factor is off the charts
when I ride this baby down the street. And it is
comfortable to ride and I don't have to ever worry
about falling off, unless someone broadsides me
or rearends me I suppose with an auto.
Enjoy'n the ride!

I had thought of a trike as a cargo bike. The 2 wheels in front doesn't help support a rear load at all. The one big feature of this 4wheeler is that the front is so long and heavy that you can load the back without concern over tipping it over.
Is having them stand on the back platfrom the only practical way to get a passenger on it?

Its too bad your outta the ice belt, cuz that just SCREAMS donut machine on icy parking lots. A positrac rear end makes it a mean snow tank too.

Good looking car Ned! I had to buy mine on the cheap. Originally I had the plastic seat, but I bought a nice cushy tractor seat to replace it with. I really really regret not getting the 36 speed. I sure would like to upgrade! I don't know if there is anyway to compare, but do you think you have more higher gears with the 36 speed? I am looking for more speed! I ride around in 6th gear all the time, and can hit about 15 mph, but my poors knees are going up and down faster than a sewing machine needle! I want something I can kick hard and really move out!
Godspiral, I think it would be easy enough to mount a second seat where the basket is and put foot pegs under the front seat. I would have like to get a 2 seater so my husband could ride with me, but they are a little pricey! But since he really hasn't shown any interst I haven't tried it.
jimisnowhere, if you ever get the chance, you should ride one. They are just so much fun! And I think they handle a lot better than the trike, I never get the feeling I could tip or anything and I flat out scoot round corners!
I don't know what the spoke count is gerv, sorry! You can get the wire spokes or a plastic 6 spoke.
