Here in Korea I think more men use purses than women. A lot of men have their own designer purses and then also carry their girl friends purse as a sign of affection.

I will never understand why people insist on pointing this out. If someone has something relevant to add to a discussion, why does it matter...

We're in the middle of a terrorist war with a new set of rules in play. Since backpacks , or other bags, are often used to carry bombs every store in the nation should demand that they be checked at the door to protect both business and customers. The freedom to walk in a store with a bag is now gone. These are the rules of war today. Quit your whinning and get used to it as the old days are gone forever. |

I was surprised to find that you're right about men shoplifting more than women. i always thought it was the other way around. I was also surprised to find that middle aged people are more likely to shoplift than students--so shopkeepers would be smart to allow stdents into their stores with backpacks.

Jeez! Where was this drugstore? The worst neighborhood in Atlanta?

i never tell cyclist to drop the bag at front cause i find it Hypocritical that i bike to work and bring a back pack through the store to the back. and i often open and close the store i work at. sure theft is 95% of the reason why packs are not allowed in but they usually stay on the back. those recycled reusable bags! now that is another story!

I cant recall being targeted specifically when I bring a bag in to a store (I usually have a large bag within a book bag when grocery shopping. Most stores in my area dont have bag checks specifically. Those that do I obviously comply.
I've been stared down by security guards once or twice but I don't really thing Im suspicious looking. Mostly, I stick with one or two stores and most of the checkout area people recognize me. |
