15.. not car free, a lurker here . I find it ironic that the movie theater that gave me some of those points is a drive-in...

The place I'm looking at today scored a 78! Compared to a 29 for the place I've lived car free for over a year. It's right next to a big park, and in an old neighborhood... 4 blocks from the grocery store, 2 blocks from a bus route that goes from downtown to our doctors. (We'd take it one direction to go downtown, the other way to go to the doctor)
And only a few miles from downtown.
The place we looked at last week scored 89. It was the perfect neighborhood. Unfortunately we hated the management company... very unprofessional.
Oh... and the other place we're considering is an 89, too. It's fairly close to everything.. I like that it's close to the light rail... unfortunately, it's a very car oriented area... to get to the light rail you either have to take a very busy road and cross a main North-South metro corridor, or go more than a mile out of your way to stay on smaller roads.

I have "western Welcome Week" (a npo that hosts a two week long event annually) as a school, and the community college as a bookstore and library (except we can't use it) and does not include the grocery store or the main library.
tweaking needed. Local input, rather than the spa-***-grocery owner.

I've read this thread before but each time I see the title I think it's literal... maybe it's my guilty conscience and all the bikes, guitars and other stuff littering the rooms and halls of my home.
If taken that way my home isn't very walkable to strangers, but I can get around with the lights off no prob unless someone moves something.

18 for me. The map is definately out dated. It listed a little liquor store as a grocery store and had a few things on the map I never knew existed even though I've lived here for 13+ years. If the roads weren't constantly under construction and traffic wasn't so bad, I'd score it higher. If I didn't have to work I'd be car light at least. That dumb 30 mile one way commute makes it insane to be car free.

100 here :-)
Dupont Circle area in Washington DC

I sold my car after living here for about 4 months. One of the best decisions I've ever made... I'd drive around for up to an hour looking for parking sometimes.
