Bill Cunningham New York

Here is a good DVD that documents car-free living, in part. It's about Bill Cunningham, photographer for the New York Times and other magazines. His bicycle is part and parcel of his life. I found it in my library. I like his combining a nearly monastic simple lifestyle with a love of clothing and fashion and exuberance (on other people). And there's plenty of footage of Bill on his bike, navigating NYC traffic.

Yeah I saw that one a while back. Interesting character. The only thing that concerned me was the footage of him with a cab on his rear wheel. He looked a little unsteady.

I understand. I worried when I saw him cupping his ears to hear better in some scenes, and how hearing loss affected him in traffic. You saw the scene where he rear-ends a taxi, didn't you? I hoped it didn't turn out too bad. That one I blamed by him being distracted by the camera.

It was cool watching him question the doorman on their policies on bicycles when he was shopping for a new apartment.

We don't have netflix and my library doesn't carry it. Any other ideas on how I can view this movie?

Maybe the noise of the traffic caused the hearing loss?

That, ordnance in the army, too many loud parties or perhaps hanging out with hippies in his youth and their Rock and Roll music.
