Never done a LD event before and...
I've been searching on/off every couple of days for events here in miami or anywhere near the south fl area, and either these events are non-existent/hard to come by or just aren't listed in any logical place because i honestly have not found one flippin event! Does anybody know any event or place where I can get info ? Thanks.

I've never heard of the term LD. You must mean long distance.
Have you tried asking your LBS? They might know, or could refer you to some local cycling clubs which could help you find one.
What about this?

And yes, use the RUSA site to search for the Florida Randonneuring clubs. I think there are 2 or 3 of them.

For randonneuring events, go to the local clubs as mentioned above. These should be listed somewhere on the RUSA site. It looks like there are two in Florida, with rides coming up in the next week or two. Note that the ride start points vary, so you can pick routes closer to home if desired. If you are interested, get your application in to RUSA now, and contact the local club(s) as well. Generally, the closest one would be the "home" club listed on the RUSA site, but you can join both of them and ride with both of them. On RUSA membership, it can take several weeks to get the paperwork turned around, but you should show up on the RUSA member search fairly quickly, which lets you get your RUSA number.
For regular century rides, ie, charity rides, check the websites of cycling clubs and the larger bike stores in your areas. Here in north Texas, the century-type rides don't start up for another couple of months. Here in wintertime, weather is very iffy, and bad weather is a disaster, attendance-wise, for these kinds of rides.
I hear people on the west coast talk about double-centuries, and those are pretty well non-existent around here, other than randonneuring events, and it may be that way in Florida as well.

You might want to specify what means long distance. Brevet riding is generally social, ultras are competitive events. Organized event centuries have a wide range of skills and speeds.

I'm in the Central Florida Randonneurs, linked already. You missed a ride in Jupiter about a month ago. Another ride starts this Saturday in Melbourne. There is also a ride coming up on the Indian Reservation in the Alligator Alley area; that's probably the closest one to you. There are lots of century rides, and a few other events here:

Are you looking for an organized ride or a route you can do on your own? I like to do brevets but prefer permanents because I can do them on my schedule and unlike mentioned above, I like to do brevets alone (my days are filled with meetings and interruptions, so it's my way of getting some solitude). Check the rusa.org site for a permanent in your area if that's something you'd like to do.

Hi Alex, I'm new to the long distance riding too and ride out of Miami. There is a 300 k brevet on March 19th starting at Light House Point https://johnandjuliet.com/RUSA/SCF-2011/#SCF-300k I did the 200 K Brevet February 19, 2011 - Miccosukee Reservation FL - Miccosukee Truck Stop. This was my first Brevet and I loved it. I have joined RUSA and will most likely do the 300 K. I am also considering the Cross Florida Ride sponsored by the Space Coast Freewheelers on April 3rd here is the link https://www.spacecoastfreewheelers.com/events.htm
