PBP package arrived
I was surprised by the medal, and I just looked at the historic medals and it is a lot different. Even though I knew what it was, I had a really hard time not thinking that it looked like a bottle opener.
Anyone watch the DVD? I thought about it, but I was watching some stupid action movie on netflix when my wife handed me the package, and I didn't switch over.

Pictures?
Can mere mortals purchase the DVD?
Anyway, congratulations, Monsieur L'Ancien!

Nice time, let's just say I'm a proud member of the Adrian Hands society. I like the fact that they personalize the medal with your time but not your name
The controle stamps inside the brevet card are really nice. Thinking about making a shadow box for all my PBP mementos with those pages showing

This guy is an animal on the bike - and seems to be a very nice guy to boot. I connected with him on FB in an attempt to learn as much as possible. This will be my first year in attempting a full rusa rando series so I've a lot to learn.
I think a shadow box would be very, very fitting for your accomplishment too. Congratulations!

It's great stuff.
Watched the video last night. It's very professionally done.
No Octopus sighting, though. The cameras were all a bit up the road from us 84-hour starters.
Already looking forward to '15.

Animal on the bike from Arizona who's also a great guy... sounds like Sturgill.
If he's not your guy, get to know him. Super guy, super nice, super generous in sharing insights into randonneuring, and unbelievably fast, too.

I was a little relieved that I didn't make it into the film since the only time I saw a camera was when I was leaving the gym at the finish. A camera crew followed me for quite a while, but nobody tried to talk to me.
For the first half of the movie, they were either right in front of me, right behind me, or with the leaders.

It seems I'm having a little trouble with my DVD. It works fine on the computer disc drive but it doesn't work in my DVD player hooked to the television. Perhaps my Player is locked on the US region? You can also view it on you tube here :https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=d5xsPcabCmc
This is the best film I have seen covering the event.

Try googling the model of your DVD player and "region free hack".

It's probably not the region, but the video standard. I suspect it's in PAL, the standard used in Europe, rather than NTSC, which is what is used in North America. If it were the region, your computer would have asked you whether you wanted to reset the DVD region.
