Maybe. But if that's what she meant, that's kooky talk.

Lol, I've been known to drive 3 hours down to Fiesta to put in some training laps. Fiesta as a 20k race is usually 2 days for me. Drive 2 hours down (before traffic) the day before. Then openers on the course (at the same time the race will start of course, because you're trying to replicate conditions), then hang out in San Diego for the day, get a good nights sleep, then wake up, race, shower and drive home 3 hours (in traffic).

All for 32 minutes of racing. (30 if I can ever get any good at it!)

@Hermes HP understood correctly.

I would love to go up there and do this one, it's just a matter of scheduling in the trip. After the TT I did over the weekend, I really can't imagine doing 40k!

I can! It's only a little over 20 miles. You've got that in you.

(I drive an hour forty each way once a week to train with my team - I'm an idiot, umm, dedicated!)

YK, keep your one day license paperwork because you can get a $10 credit for your annual next year with it. Nice to see you back here.

sarals, I will get there on the 40k, still just only starting my 3rd week back on the bike for now.

Thanks shovel, good tip!

The drive isn't so much the issue as getting the travel arrangements figured out (with making sure the kiddo is supervised, etc.) Basically I just have to work out the details. I'll get it figured out.

The long trips to the venue stink but that's what we do. Hope you can get it scheduled.
I have a 2 1/2 hour one way drive to do a hopefully 24 minute or so 16K. 2 1/2 hour drive and a 38 minute warmup for a 24 minute race. Yeah, that seems normal :-O

I just now got my room booked and the race paid for. Looks like I'm on for the TT.

Good thing Mr. YK is supportive.
