Big big thanks to Hermes for offering some very sound advice on my TT position! I made the big changes suggested and found power throughout my stroke. I still have a long way to go but I think the info he provided and the way he described it was excellent. My workout was a good WU, followed by 4 standing starts into 500 meters at pursuit pace, then a few 6 minute sets of 30/30's with the high end being my pursuit pace @ 30-31 mph. Doing the 500's I would get up to 28-29 mph on the first lap then pace the next 500 meters at 31-32.5 mph. I was pretty comfortable at pace and will keep pursuing little changes that might include taking the last spacer from under the bar and getting a different seatpost that allows the saddle to move more forward. It looks like I can still raise the seat a little more. I discussed with my coach the possibility of doing our state senior games 5K TT using this bike and putting a free hub and brakes on it.

That jersey makes me look pregnant.

Big change, and those numbers are very impressive, as usual.

So the latest bad 'luck' Cleave alluded to for me, is that when I accidentally went to the big-big combo on that HC TT, before i had procured a new chain, I bent the big ring and also apparently weakened my derailleur hanger. That's what I think happened anyway, since 30 minutes into a planned 3 hour endurance ride Saturday, my RD was suddenly in the rear wheel spokes. Collecting the parts to fix it all, and in the mean time I am back on the Gunnar.

A'Jet, The position seems better but the camera angle is different. I looks like you have better separation between your knees and chest and you are more stretched out on the bike. And you have to remove the aero bladder from around your waist. THe UCI banned them.

It looks like you need more seat height. One way to adjust your seat is to raise it until it feels totally wrong. Try to find the upper limit knowing that it may take time to adapt to that position.

Also, I would slide your ass forward to ride on the nose of the saddle while lifting your chest more. Sit right on your prostate and enjoy the moment.

The camera angle is different, but your arms are more outstretched and you look flatter and more comfortable. To do that and even maintain power is good.

I had an absolutely crazy day today. My phone did not stop ringing off the hook. Recruiters trying to coax me to relocate to California. Multiple callbacks and interview pre-screens. Good contacts made and old contacts renewed. No client interviews yet but several opportunities in the hopper. You guys have been sending me good karma and it's working.

I'm good for about 5 minutes in that position before I feel like I've gotta take a dump.

Do I need to tell you what that position does to my anatomy? I still hurt from that 10K ITT yesterday.

At PSG I got to see Cleave do a rabbit trick. He pulled an amazing amount of stuff out of his Prius and then got it all back in there after the races! How did he do it??

I also just loved his changing kilt!! I kept my mouth shut, too - but another gal didn't.

I know I don't have the experience to comment on this, but that sure seems like it would hurt.
Check that, having had an infected prostrate, I probably am in a position to comment... OUCH!

California (bay area) is just bubbling over right now with jobs... Its expensive to relocate, but you get some great people to ride with

Turns out I've been budgeted in the new job at 45 hours/week. That's both good and bad. First two days have confirmed that there is a LOT to get done. Already neck deep.

I will make additional changes the weekend when doing intervals on an isolated stretch of bike trail along the Alleghney River in PA. The new position does require chamois butter. I will raise the seat and possibly drop the bar to its lowest position.

I may need to get a zero set back seat post since the saddle is all the way forward. I can't find a freewheel that will allow 99 gear inches. I will probably race the 5K TT at the state senior games with a fixed gear. It is a flat out and back course. The Fuji Comp has holes for brakes although I won't use the front brake since the five spoke doesn't have a brake surface.
