Oh, boy.....

I emailed him. Later. None of THAT stuff. Let's please be careful with that, okay?

AzTallRider 03-04-13 01:52 PM

I'm not showering with Ex, no matter what it is he wants to say to me.

VanceMac 03-04-13 02:04 PM

I would shower with Ex if it meant rainbow... maybe even for just stars and stripes. :p

sarals 03-04-13 02:09 PM

I was going to make this my new signature but....:p

Racer Ex 03-04-13 04:43 PM

I missed this. Now I'm sorry I didn't. I feel dirty. I need a shower but now I have fear.

shovelhd 03-04-13 04:48 PM

Gawd. You people are pathetic. :)

sarals 03-04-13 04:57 PM

I'll never shower again. I am forever scarred.

:p

Ruined 50+ racing. Go sit in a corner. You can come out when we tell you. ;)

shovelhd 03-04-13 05:43 PM

Or Sara will buzz you in her chopper and soil your undies.

You threw him out in '68 and he lived through it?

shovelhd 03-04-13 07:50 PM

Reserve chute.

Esteban58 03-04-13 07:56 PM

flying squirrel suit? Or did they have those back then...

Back on topic...

I'm contemplating signing up for the local Sequoia Century (102 miles 9700 ft climbing)... Have any of you done this and have any
recommendations about preparing for it (I'm thinking that knocking out their metric route ahead of time will probably be good
prep). The route sounds a lot like one of Hermes' training rides.

They had jet packs then. He didn't. He fell like a Simonized Manhole Cover. Impressive impact!

I've heard good things about the Sequoia Century, many have said it's one of those "must do" centuries (like the Death Ride). Go for it! 9700 feet of climbing has to be good for you, or it will kill you!

For climbing, you should climb.

Even Lance is saying, "Dude, it is not worth it".

Oh that's the slug gulch one, right? Good one. Except for that last flat part with traffic. I barely remember though it was a long time ago.

I got the reply from her yesterday. She said that while it wouldn't be a problem physiologically, it wouldn't be a good use of mental energy prior to my first A race. She had noted the .99 IF, but was going to wait until she got the data from Rouge-Roubaix to decide what to do.

46 entries in the Master's 40+/55+ race, most of whom are from out of state. The race is filling up in the last week. 241 total so far, for a race which starts in the middle of nowhere.

It sounds hideous. I suppose the only small mercy, from my perspective, is that there isn't a great deal of climbing. But good luck with it.

shovelhd 03-05-13 05:27 AM

It sounds like a Battenkill wannabe.

Could be, but it's been around for 15 years. Don't know how long Battenkill has been around, so I don't know which came first. It might just be an indication that roadies are deviants regardless of their location. :)

shovelhd 03-05-13 07:46 AM

I don't know how long Battenkill has been around, but I'm pretty sure Rouge Roubaix has not been a UCI race or an NRC race. At any rate, they're both tough spring classics.

They are? I hadn't noticed. :innocent:
