Beginner Trails Around Harpers Ferry

Hello,

I just got a decent Giant Talon 3, after having a Schwinn Le Tour and other Walmart bikes, as you can see it from my post history . I had always been scared of spending such a large amount of money on a MTB, but several forum threads convinced me as to why I am not enjoy my current or past bikes. I have never explored trails to do proper MTB on and was looking for those that would welcome a beginner around my area (Harpers Ferry). So far I found through research the C&O trail and I have used the W&OD trail, though the latter is more paved less MTB style. I am still reading around the forum to learn Dos/Dont's as I want the bike to last as long as possible, so any quick tips or just pointer to resources would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Ride over to Brunswick MD on the C&O, I have read on facebook about a new mountain bike trail over there.

Also check out the following that shows trails in the area:

Thank you!

I am still waiting for the bike to arrive at the shop, but once I have it I will check out the suggested area and use the website as well.

Thank you for posting this, although it was stated to be in progress I made my way to Rivers Edge Trails and rode on the still being built trail (oops) and also the existing one which was pretty fun, can't wait until is totally built. My go to has been poor house farm, but when I don't feel like driving I just bike to my local parking lot and try to make the best of the area.

I have been spoiled by the trails with features so the C&O is not my main choice anymore, but it was still a nice ride when I first tried it.
