Just when I think..........

I'm riding pretty good or so I thought. My son and I went out for a short ride,we stoped by the LBS and my bud thats a pro decided to come along. After watching him ride I now know I suck!!!! When we started down hill I got my butt dropped big time. When I could see him he was super smooth and fun to watch. Now I know why I work for a living.

It is not that you suck but that you do not ride for a living nor as much as you friend does. Another consideration, it is not that other riders (such as your self) suck but that Pros can just be that great.

The guys I ride with are considered fast and skilled but every now and then some of the factory sponsored riders will join in on our riders and they will smoke even the best of us. Not buy a lot but the differance is in their style. We look like we are trying to go fast and the Pros make it look as if they are just out for a beach cruise

I usually ride better with the better riders. I seem to quit thinking and go with the flow and next thing you know, I'm cruising and flowing all over the singletrack better than normal. I think we all get that to some degree riding with people of different levels. I even noticed that this weekend riding with a bunch of kids. I was following behind them watching them laugh and goof off and I totally forgot the trail and just flowed. Except uphill of course, I still suck wind.
But I can kick all my riding buddies butts all over a golf course.

You always play up/down to whomever you're with to a degree. S'why I love biking with buddies who are better than me. And why I hate golfing with buddies who are better, as I can't really golf up...so they degrade to my level!

When you do see him watch how he rides the terrain, that is how to learn. No reason to get frusturated, he was just showboating.

Oh I'm not frustrated,I think it's funny.I know how to ride,Ive been riding for years. He is super to watch ride. As far as showboating,he's not that way.He got 5th in dual at sea otter this year. We were just out trail riding and goofing off. He sure does'nt need to show off for me.Heck he beat Cedric. Its just a funny observation of how good and fast some people get.
