Need Suspension Fork Help !

I posted this in the Genral section but got no response, so I'm hoping you guys can help me. Here's my issue:

I have a 2016 Fuji Crosstown with Suntour NEX 63mm forks with lockout, that came with the bike. I notice when I'm stopped and holding the front brakes tight and push my weight forward the fork has some play between the stanchions and the lower tubes. The lower tubes and wheel move back and forth a bit, and the stanchions stay solid and don't move, so I know the steerer post isn't loose. It seems to flex right at tubes and stanchions, and I can clearly see it and feel it when I brake. The lockout works fine and they forks seem to work well overall. Is this normal wear ? I have close to 2500 miles on it now, do they need service or replacement ? I know they're entry level quality, but I'm afraid they might just come apart ? Thanks.

A 2016??!! Sounds like you need warranty work.

You are correct in noticing that there shouldnt be play.
