I love when people will continue to argue about something even after they admit they don't know what the other person is refering to.
For all Industrial knows a tandem could be Honda's crotch-rocket...or maybe a replica of a Flinstones bike.

Don't rely too much on the "I need a better bike" excuse. I lived in Brazil for two years. While I was there I discovered, among other things, that Brazilians are master wheelie riders. But do you think the average Brazilian is riding around on a $2,500 bike or even a bike that cost as much as yours? Not a chance. On any given day I saw at least half a dozen kids riding wheelies as far as they wanted to on 20-year-old, rusty, steel single speeds- they looked a lot like the classic Schwinn cruisers. Sure, some bikes are easier to ride wheelies on than others, and yours may not be the ideal bike for wheelies, but if some poor Brazilian kid can master wheelies on a bike that looks like the one your dad was riding when he was 12, then you can do it on you Wal-Mart bike. If it's really that important to you, just keep practicing. Soon enough you'll be able to ride a wheelie as far as you want.

My bad. Still, when the bike is about 8 feet long, it's freakishly stable downhill and at speed. I've done a few technical water crossings where my wife got off and let me pedal through. Crazy stuff. Oh, anyone can wheelie better than me on the tandem, I'll give y'all that. :D

Is it even possible to wheelie at all on one of them? Maybe If you sat in the back seat and tied the bars in the front so they were straight.

Nope. I don't think it can be done. I think your pivot point (fulcrum?) is over the back wheel and there would be too much bike to lift. And a harsh landing would be bad. Very bad.
