How much are the Rock-hoppers you were looking at btw?
just saw the one that was posted on this forum, looks nice but just as i said about the bruiser probably way out of my price range
I'm pretty sure rockhoppers are a good deal more expensive.

First off, http://www.usacycling.org/ for a license (link is on the sidebar)

Above a certain heartrate (what's called the lactate threshold or anaerobic threshold), your body can no longer process the oxygen fast enough to provide energy for your muscles. As a result, your body starts to use short-term energy stores without the need for oxygen. This is anaerobic exercise. Your body can produce a lot more power in anaerobic mode, but only for a short period of time. This is why after sprinting (on foot) at full speed for a short time, there comes a point where you slow down regardless of whether you want to or not. A product of the energy-producing reaction during anaerobic exercise is lactic acid, which is what causes your muscles to hurt after a period of exercise above the lactate threshold. On the assumption that by "race" you mean "ride as fast as you possibly can," this would likely lead the rider out of the aerobic heartrate zone and into the anaerobic zone, which would hurt his training. |
Wait, nvm, thats the stump-jumpers that are around a thousand, a rockhopper is probably around 6-something depending on the model you get, like my bike.
oh, well didn't know all that stuff. Like I said im just a teenager that loves to race, haven't been beaten yet i dont know about all the aerobic and anaerobic stuff but I do know that if your heart rate is up due to exercise for long periods of time it can make the heart muscle extremely strong so i'd rather have it really strong than keeping just under the minimum you know but thats just me thanks for the post ill check it out

Yea but how do you know? 16, full of energy I cruise in lowest gears meaning 3rd gear on the front maybe 3rd or 4th gear on the back that includes uphill as well your welcome to race me anytime provided we live close enough
And you spin out over 90RPM in those gears too? Not. So you think you're faster than 2 skilled racers on one bike. Stop huffing, it's making you delusional.
dude lol i can beat you, i think i might go embarass some poor kid that just showed up on his bike, its been awhile since i've rode today maybe 2hrs but ill keep a look on your posts and I KNOW i can beat you Expatriate, you can have 5 cyclists on one bike ill still beat you in an all-out speed race
Silly boy, go play outside.
lol you just dont no dude believe what you want put your money where the mouth is so i can take it and hear you cry about a rematch and then you'll put more money down and ill take it as well you just dont know I OWN the roads
Whatever. And all the people reading this thread are just laughing at you. I'll be going to the BMX track with my wife soon, so she can try out her new bike. If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on your making another ridiculous and boastful comment while I'm gone. At least you're keeping us amused.
This is fantastic!
http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=1235351 Think you're fast eh? Got just the race for ya there :) I'm sure you'll reign supreme with your GT Saddleback over all those weak old 20 and 30 somethings with their dumb 'ol Epics and King Kulas :p |
Sweet! I'll even put up the entry fee for this kid, on the promise that he pays me back in triple at the end of the race. Since he's a sure thing, that shouldn't worry him. Off to the track now. Thanks Snuffy!
Expatriate, i meant if it was ONLY you on your tandem, no second rider.

Does your tandem only weigh 40lb? Damnit my bike weighs more than that, then again it is a DH bike. But I would have thought tandems weighed more than a bike like mine.
Titanium goodness. With a DH fork up front and 203mm discs. You've seen it here, haven't you? If not, I'll post a photo tomorrow, the missus beckons...
lol... gotta keep her happy ;) Yeah I have seen it, it is a piece of art:)
