Devinci Cameleon 2005
Hiyas!
Hope everyone is fine!
I'm looking to buy a MTB. I will probably use it more often on the road, but I don't want to be 'limited' in any ways (kind of a stuntman here.. ), so I thought it might be better to get a MTB, even if it means having a second set of tires just for the roads.
I've shopped a lot and I came down to this bike (https://www.devinci.com/english/came.html), because it's the one that busts my budget the least (it's now 'stretched' to the limit though), while having decent gears.
I don't really know much about bikes though, but from what I've read/eard, the SRAM X-7 derailleur and shifters are great. What about the fork (Manitou Splice Comp) and the Disk brakes (Hayes MX-1 XC 6" mechanical disc).. any other thing worth mentionning? any Cameleon owner care to comment about is 'experience' so far?
If you have suggestions for other bikes in the same price range (1000$ CDN), I'm open to anything at that point.. eventhough my hype for this one is getting bigger by the hour..

I have a Devinci Cameleon from 1999 and it has been my baby for 6 years. It is an amazingly versatile bike for a good price. I use it to commute around the city and for mountain biking on the North Shore (BC) (although the bike is not made for major downhilling). I love it and always willl, even though I'm planning to upgrade soon.
