Is it just me or high pressure tires just weight a ton?
I had 40psi off road tires on my mountain bike but since I started commuting, I decided to buy a pair of 26x1.95 65psi slicks which are inflated to max pressure in order to reduce rolling resistance, but I feel that the less rolling resistance is compensated by the WAAAAAY heavier bike.
Am I doing something wrong?

26x1.95 sounds like a cruiser tyre, the slicks I'm familiar with are more like 26x1.5 and 90lb/in. Could be that?

Well, maybe, but is it just me or is the air the one that puts on that much weight?

Is the replacement tire wire bead by any chance? The air will only add a couple of grams. Oh, and I know how weird this sounds but it actually does add a very, very minor amount of weight.
