If the OP isn't against springing for a custom rear rack, he could have one made that bolts into the canti stud holes and a seatpost mount.

The fender requirement would be tough. I have the Full Dynamix version of this frame and there is very little room for a fender with 2.3" tires. 2.0 and smaller should be no prob, BUT there are no fender mounts at BB or brake bridge areas.

I'd probably go with a Surly Ogre fork, even though it's kinda heavy.

why do you need carbon? I have 2 bikes with 26" 559 -47 tires ,
1) 7005 Heat treated Alloy 'World Tour'

2) 80's lugged steel, repaired and rebuilt..

DIY ? Kit ?

you could buy carbon tube and use it, rather than bamboo ...

Okay so here we are, post number 28. The original poster, who wanted a carbon fiber mountain bike frame made for 26" wheels for use as a touring or road bike, with (blah blah blah) braze ons, has not been back to participate in the conversation since the original post.

Right. Ever think you've been played?

I'm kinda glad he posted. I've thought about putting some flared drops on my crabon 26er before, I really should get around to it one of these days. I'll pass on the fenders, however. :)

Buying a 650b bike, and converting to 26" is an idea, and might work. It will drop the BB slightly, but that may well be fine for converting an offroad bike to road touring.

But why? Splitting hairs at that point. Plus finding a 26" wheelset with matching hub spacing might prove to be difficult unless a custom wheelset is made.

But since you brought it up...

The question should be...Why don't you need carbon?!
