Disc Brake Pads & Front Shock
How will I know when the disc brake pads need to be replaced.??
I have a 2019 Giant Talon 3 29er. Love the bike. Can I get a decent front shock upgrade installed for $300/$350.?? Any suggestions on brand and model. It's a hardtail bike.

When the brakes stop working and make a wicked howl grinding noise? Or put the bike up on your bike stand and look at them? Replace when they are worn down to say a dimes' thickness.

Roughly how many miles/hours do you have on the bike, we'll assume you're not burning pads at a lift assist trail.
Might just need a bleed and not pads.
As for fork upgrades, I rarely suggest that route, as it's usually not sensible to put a fork in which costs about the same as the bike.
However, since it's got the low end Suntour, consider their upgrade program for either an Epixon or Raidon lines. I can't remember the differences, but they are light years better than the stock fork.

Or look at a Rockshox Option which is better than any of the Suntour...
