Deore M6100 12-speed
I haven't dug into this yet to see how it's "down" from SLX or XT. It's very similar, at least. It uses the Micro Spline to get a 10t cog, and the brakes are available with 2-piston or 4-piston calipers.

There's also now a new Deore M5100 and M4100 group which look like an expanded version of M6000. 10-11 speed rear on good ol' freehubs, 1x or 2x front and an expanded selection of cassettes. The 400 level also has a 4-piston caliper.

The cassette is all steel, which I think is good. The chain is sensibly priced. Honestly, SLX is such a good deal, I am surprised there is room for this. But I guess they know much better than I do.
We upgraded [sic] the kid's SRAM GX Eagle to SLX.
