which way to run them?

my wife called me here at work and let me know that the tires i ordered have arrived .

just wanted to ask if anyone here has run IRC trailbears before and if they had a preference for which way to run the tires (i.e., normal direction or reverse) and what they found works best. i got the 2.5s if that helps.

can't wait to get out on the trails and see how they compare to the tioga factory DH 2.3s i've been running. don't you just love getting new parts?

Bikes: many bikes

How did you like your Tioga's? How did they wear down? I have been thinking on getting those or the DH 2.5's.

i liked them. there's still about 50-75% of the tread left, even though the rubber is kind of soft. i don't ride too much urban so the tread's lasted a bit. also i didn't get to ride too often last season when i first got them and when i did, it was mostly dj'ing.

they shed mud pretty well, which i liked as well as the thick sidewall casing, which helped me a lot cause i used to pinch flat the rear an awful lot. i pinchflatted only twice since putting them on.

the trailbear's sidewall is a lot thinner. remind me of the sidewalls on my 2.1 kinetics, so we'll see if my luck with pinchflats continues... or if i'm going to have to stock up on some extra tubes heh.

edit: just mounted the new tires. decided to try them out in the specified direction for now. i might try flipping the rear after a couple rides to see how much of a difference it makes with traction and stuff. one thing i noticed about these tires right away, they're TALL . they're pretty much the same width as the tioga 2.3s but damn they look like mahoosive tires! don't leave a lot of room in the front w/my z1. and it's real tight in the back, rubbing in one section of the tire (most likely due to the flatspot i got in the rear causing the wheel to be a bit out of round).
