So there I am, enjoying an evening ride with a group of people, doing some decent trails that follow the river.

We get to this one part that's fairly narrow, with a tree on one side, and about a five and a half foot bank down to the river... and unlucky me, I didn't make it. The following is for your amusement.

It's a good thing I was riding with a group, or I don't know how the hell I would have made it out of there. Getting up the bank wouldn't have been a huge problem, but simply standing up was almost impossible. My feet were above my butt, and I couldn't put my hands down to push myself up because they would just sink two feet into the muck.

This is the only guy that would come down to get me.

They had to form a chain of about three people to pull me up.

Out of the 30 or so people I was riding with, I was the only one that fell in. All in all, it was probably the best ride I've ever been on.

At least you had a soft landing and got cooled off from your long and difficult ride
If you find your self in that situation again and can't climb out you could try and swim to another spot or just in a circle so you can get up closer to the side but then again, I do not know what criters may be in those waters or even if there is a more solid place to climb out
Out of 30 riders only one was willing to get muddy? Damn, do they polish their bikes after every ride and carry them over puddles?
It did look like a good time though.

Nice. You look very relaxed sitting in the mud.

A truly artistic crash! Although we all know you just wanted to cool off and impress the girls at the coffee shop post ride
