Gary Fisher Genesis Hardtail Rig

Hey guys, John here I want to get a single speed mountain bike for my b-day I like em cause you can get strong on em and they are light weight so I was just woundering if the Gary Fisher Rig was a good bike for xc and trail riding. Thanks for any help- The 11 dollar rim guy
