I once thought my steering wheel was loose & squeaking, but it turned out to be the emergency brake sticking....

Be hard to diagnose without hearing. For example, I had a squeak whenever I turned because the rear derailleur cable housing was rubbing on the frame mount and there was grit in between.

Could be that^^^^, could be head set, could be loose bolts in any of the mounting set up, could be crown on forks (if DC) could be the actual forks, could be hub.......... there are lots of possabilities.

Yeah, when I turned the handlebars back and forth a while ago it'd make a squeeking sound; shifter cable housing rubbing on headtube. Maybe that's the problem you've got, check.
