I'm guessing the Jr T at least has some thick/recessed dropouts?Originally Posted by Maelstrom

In the beginning, I was a bit nervous running regular dropouts w/8" rotors and emailed Marzocchi about this. They responded that the 2004 Z1 FR series forks were all rated for a 8” rotors. I've had absolutly no problems over the 2 seasons & 2000+ off road miles with this setup. (Still keeping fingers crossed however...)Originally Posted by Maelstrom

BTW: All of Marzocchi’s 2005 free ride forks come standard with 20mm though axles.

The Fox Vanilla is rated for an 8" rotor.Originally Posted by Expatriate
An 8" rotor with a 9mm QR is asking for trouble. Most manufacturers specify 20mm thru-axles if you want to run an 8" rotor.

Well i know u guys going to call me a lame person for owning a RST Capa T4. But what to say, it came with my bike and buying a new suspension is very expensive in malaysia. A RockShox REBA will costs me RM1000
Banned.
I have a Trek Bruiser 2 with an Mz-comp that has an 8 inch rotor in the front. No problems at all. I weigh 160 lbs. Did lots of downhill this summer too.

I beleive Fox 04 & older Talas & Vanilla were rated to a max 7" rotor. All 05 Fox and newer (except thier XC line) are rated for 8" rotors.Originally Posted by KonaRider24

I didn't make the switch to Fox until 2005, Previous to that my fork of choice was the Marzocchi Z1, with a rock shox psylo for a very short time in between them.

That fork is an entry level XC- ish 4" travel fork. You never see 8" rotors on forks like that for a reason.Originally Posted by wheelhot

Its usually pretty obvious actually. Forks rated "xc" or "trail" forks will not support 8in without some risk. Fr and dh forks, usually good to go, all mountain would be the only confusing ranking, but really I would assume they would be fine. Pre 2002 these rules change a bit as the ratings were different and 20mm and 8in in general were not common.
