Bummer, sometimes it's hard to get motivated though. I generally find that once I get started it's actually pretty enjoyable, until I cross thread something anyway.

And you would know, I saw you doing some research:

I got some new parts today, I will be installing them in hopes that it stops raining soon.

And as lame as this thread is, it still beats "Which bike should I get?"

get the el camino bleed kit, ASAP. not that you should expect problems with 'em. they're awesome. but you will eventually need to bleed them, and they require a different bleed fitting at the lever than the HFX-9s, and some shops (read most) won't have it (yet).

Nice. I imagine you riding on fish lowers with stanchions up their butts.

I wanted to tell you guys about the two new forks I'm getting this season, but I was afraid it would seem like I was bragging.

Edit - whoa, I'm confused. no surprise really but still.

OneTinSloth,

The El Camino bleed fitting adapter is only required for pre 05 bleed kits.

And the set I ended up with has complete bleed kits (with adapters) included, so no sweat.

sweet! i guess my shop is stuck with a pre '05 kit...and all our usual distributors are either out of stock or confused by what we mean when we order the camino bleed kit.

Some of it is the holidays and the rain, the rest is spending the money and finding out what parts I need to purchase so that the bike can get back to the factory performance level. Its the time of year that i dont ride [ i guess ], anyway i will be getting ready real soon.

Thanks

thanks for the heads-up!

so did QBP, and instead of the actual el camino bleed kit, they sent us a G2 caliper bleed fitting. curse those minnesotans!
