March at Round Valley would be good. Since I live a short distance from Round Valley, I'd be there.

I'm not a fan of Ringwood(Spoiled by Vietnam up in Mass), plus that is a major drive time for me being that I'm in western hunterdon county. Alliare is even further.

Ringwood is about 2 and a half hours, and Alliare is 3 hours and 15 minutes from me. The interstates take me way out of the way, and the easiest most direct routes are back roads and state and county highways. Besides, I can show the other entrance to Round Valley, the one that isn't on any map. Allamuchy is doable but, is usually a mess during March and April.

Are you guys from south jersey, I just get that feeling because you say that Allaire is a few hours away from you and I think thats up north? Anyway, I'm always down for a weekend ride.

The cushetunk is the only legal trail at Round Valley, but it's a good sized trail without going into cushetunk park, from the south lot and back is 18 miles, with the cushetunk park it's about 24 miles. The cushetunk is generally tame until the first emergency road crossing, after that, the good riders are shown from the beginners, at that crossing it goes uphill for a bit, then has two line selections, one is hard because of the speed gathered, and the other one is tight twisty downhill singletrack and really isn't beginner friendly at all then there is a clearance for a short bit where you go past the waterhouse for there, then more climbing then you hit the youth center portion of the cushetunk the first mile is gravel but there is side twisting single track the crosses the graveled over portion, when it starts to turn to normal trail it starts getting extremely rough from natural washouts you hit a gate blocking off the campsite then go right at that point it becomes really rocky and rooty and uphillm it ends when you hit the cushetunk park which can be accessed directly from the cushetunk trail. It's also possible to hit a couple places during the weekend like mtnbiker66 is doing with the southeast gather this spring. Round Valley and Allamuchy is doable in a weekend.

Alliare is southern NJ and is considered in the coastal plains region.
