Bike for my mom
My mom wants to start to mtb but she wants to spend like $250, these are the ones she picked after test rides. I would appreciate any help.
1.Trek 820 $250
2.Giant Boulder W $240
3.Raleigh Womens Mojave 2.0 $250
4.Diamondback, Womens Outlook $220
these are not in any particular order

Gromitz49948 I can only respond with bias. My son has a Trek 820 since 2002. He started riding it on MTB trails in 2005. It is a well made machine that has held up well under his 175lb frame. But, it is a chro-moly frame and is a tad heavy (about 32 lbs.) If your mom is frail, perhaps a lighter bike is in order. If she is average, definetly consider the Trek 820. Also, check the resale of 820s on ebay, it's incredibly good usually bringing over $200.

Trek 820. It'll take a beating much better than the Outlook (I know this from having owned both at a time). Also, I've got a buddy who made it though his beginning season (and an 18-hr race) on a stock Trek 820. It's heavy, and I mean heavy, but it should hold up just fine to get started out with for your mom.

You guys are are brutes. I mean, sister is one thing, but you're talking about his mom.
Gromitz, you got a sister? Post her up so we can derail this mom thing before it gets out of hand.
