Quick Fox Forks Question

Hi,

I am looking at buying a Marin Rift Zone mountain bike. Looking into the forks that come on the bike I ran into a question. On the bike specs website it specifiys "Fox Forx F100R" but on the Fox website I can not seem to find this model. Is this the Fox Float 100R or a cheaper OEM style fork?

Thanks.

yeah, I believe that F in F100R stands for float. But I don't actually know for certain.

I don't think so. If you look on their
manual it shows that the F100R isn't a float or else it would have said "Float" like it does for the Floats. Why it idn't on their site is beyond me

If anything it is closer to the FRLT line....

It's an OEM version of the F series they come in 80 and 100 mm travel, "R" stands for adj rebound, "L" stands for lockout and "T" stands for adj Threshold. An F100R Is an F-series with 100 mm travel an adj rebound. At least that's how I interpret it.

Thanks very much guys. I spoke to another LBS last night and it seems that the OEM story is the correct one. They are Float forks (which just means air rather that coil) and the 100mm is just for OEM bike. Cheers.

100mm(nor 80mm) is not just OE. "Rebound only" is OE. FLOAT is not exclusively OE either.
