I just got the Mule myself and while I haven't tried it yet it seems like it'll do the job. www.campmor.com had last year's model for $40 and some other ones if that helps at all. I'm sure there are other places to find them though.

Im not thinking of the MULE cause it has a lot of storage and its heavy

It's very light actually. Isn't it something like a pound and a half empty? I dunno, for me it doesn't seem to weigh me down at all.

The Pricepoint Sette Flopak is a good pack for the $20 or so.I have one & it works good.I use it for my 20 to 40 mile rides .

Im wondering is 2litres of water enought for a 30km cross country, technical uphill and uphill, downhill and technical downhill included?

+1 for the MULE. I got one like a half a year ago, and I love it. The longest I ever stay out riding is 2-3 hours, and I usually don't need the full 3 liters if I bring a water bottle along. I usually only fill it up about half way. It has enough space to store everything you'll need: some food, tools, tubes, mini-pump, etc, but it sinches down to a pretty small size. Vote MULE for President, 2008!

hey which one do you think I should get? 2004 CamelBak Mule?, Sette FloPak 100oz or Sette Max Flopak? all looks good and the Sette FloPak is cheapest which one is good for a 30km ride?

What really matters is the duration of the ride. It is generally recommended to drink about one liter of water (or energy drinks) in one hour.

im also thinking of CamelBak Lobo, people say its much more comfortable then Mule and maybe i can buy a bottle cage on my bike so that i wont feel heavy carry this bag
