Damn, just came back from the hospital, doctor said I kinda damaged my kneecap, luckily the tendons and ligaments are alright around it. 2 weeks of NO sport whatsoever, least amount of walking possible, during the day I must wear one of those elastic things to support the knee, need 1200mg of painkiller daily and 1 hour of icing the knee...

Looks like I'm not under pressure to install the drivetrain and brakes by this weekend... :'(
Damnit, snowboarding is dangerous. I had a fall and hit my kneecap, damaged my coccyx more though so I didn't really pay attention to the knee. Kept on snowboarding after resting my coccyx two days (will a buttload of painkillers though), now it's just gotten worse.

Lucky thing is, after the two weeks I can always take the train and then the funicular up to the start of the DH trails meaning I shan't need to do much pedalling, I have a feeling if there wasn't funicular I would be restricted to light pedalling around.

Bleh, felt like sharing, expect me around the forums a bit more for a few weeks.

Harsh man, keep rested, do what the doc says, and you'll be back on the bike in no time! if you have a PS2 buy downhill domination to keep you entertaiend for 2 weeks, then when you get back on the bike you'll be rarring to go!

I wear skating kneepads under my snow pants when I snowboard. I don't care if it's considered wimpy or not, I like to be able to fall and get back up without getting hurt.

That really sucks about the butt-bone, that's a nasty injury.

Yeah what exactly is the problem? Patella's are evil little bones, sounds like an interesting injury, only two weeks? Did you move it out of position or is it a hairline crack in there or something? When I cracked mine I was out for over a month.

Hey again, thanks for all the support. It's a bummer to be out for 2-3 weeks but I do know that I'm fairly lucky in terms of the fact that many injuries end up in months of healing time.
Cornish: I've always wanted to get my hands on that game, I'll see if I can find it cheap.
Kona, Hopper: This is what it says on the sheet of paper the doctor gave me (it's the Spanish term for it though):
CONDROPATÍA FEMOROPATELAR POSTRAUMÁTICO
He drew a diagram on a paper to try and explain to me what must've happened, he said something like this:
When I fell I must've hit the kneecap, I remember hitting it on an icepatch. What he said was that when the ground hit my kneecap, my kneecap was pushed into the bone behind it but I didn't really get the rest of what he said, too complicated for someone with little knowledge in terms of sport injuries. He said that although the name of the injury is long he said it isn't too serious.
Hopper: I'm not sure about any fractures, hairline fracture is always a possibility but I didn't have an x-ray done so I don't know. He spent about 10 minutes testing the tendons, ligaments & muscles around the knee and said I was lucky since all of them were virtually intact.
