My new Yeti 575

Well I've been drooling over the idea of a new mountain bike for a while now, and decided it was finally time. After my first ride today, I'm totally glad I did. The new Yeti 575 will take me on all the epic rides that I'm sure to find this spring/summer. It was a joy to ride up hill, and sooo much fun coming back down. Good times. Here's the skinny:

Small black ano 575
Race-disc build kit + upgrades.
Fox Talas RLC fork
Sram XO rear der.
XT front der.
Sram X9 shifters
Avid Juicy 5 brakes
Fox RP3 shock
Green Chris King headset
Thompson elite seatpost/stem
DT Swiss 540 wheels
DT Swiss OEM hubs
Maxis Minion tires (switching these out soon).
Race Face Deus crankset
Race Face Next carbon handlebar

Here she is clean.

Playing around under the Fremont Bridge on my lunch break.

After tonight's ride.

Sweet man, those 575's seem to be great all-around bikes. They are high on my list when the time comes to get my all-mountain bike. What are you comparing it to when you say it was a joy to ride up hill?

Well I've been riding a Rocky Mountain Element for 4 years now... and with the weight gain and more travel going to the 575 I was worried it would be harder to pedal up hill, but it wasn't. The more technical climbs actually seemed smoother than on the Element, due to the longer but efficient travel. For a 5-3/4" travel bike that comes in under 29 lbs, I'd certainly recommend trying out the 575.

Nice ride! You're really gonna love it when the upper elevation rides clear up! I took mine out to Syncline for the first time a few weeks ago and had a blast, except that I put a little dent on the down tube..... damn rocks.......

The Talas feels nice and buttery so far. I was contemplating going for an AM1 or Pike for a little more travel, but for the type of riding I mostly do, I expect the Talas do do just fine.

I recognize that bridge! I live in portland too. Me and my friends do more freeride stuff (used to in washington park before they tore the jumps down after that kid broke his neck). Where do you mostly ride? I can't wait to go to post canyon this summer!

Oh yeah, nice bike!
