East Coast/South Atlantic XC Tire

Need tire suggestions for Virginia XC riding (Blue Ridge Mountains). Mostly hardpack with lots of roots. $30 or under. Low rolling resistance. And preferably a tire Performance Bike carries, but that is not necessary.

I have used the Dart/Smoke set up and like the grip but it is not worth the rolling resistance. I currently am using Maxxis Larsen's and don't mind them but would like something with slightly more grip. I have been happy with the Specialized Roll-X but don't want to spend the money.
