I just Google Earth'd it for you.
From Birmingham to Asheville, NC (Pisgah is just south of Asheville) is just under 6 hours.
You should definately make it then. NO EXCUSES!

I don't care if you come via sled dog, air plane, or wagon pulled by a team of santa's raindeer, I just hope you get to come ride with us.

Ok I'm pretty sure I'm going to be able to make it. Now some questions.
Is anyone from the birmingham area going? (or even alabama)
Is me being under 18 going to be a problem? (I'm 17)
There is a BUMP (birimingham mountain biking club) meeting saturday so I'll try and convince a few people to go if you guys want more people.

I got a Thule 699 Round Trip case for my recent air travels, and although that thing is bomber (no damage to bike despite signs of a desperate and violent attack by luggage handlers), it's a PITA to haul through the terminal and the airlines can/will screw you. Twenty bucks to the skycap got mine loaded, but I had to shell out fifty on the way back (it did weigh in at 88 lbs, though).
The simplest way would be to box the bike it up and ship it mtnbiker66's local bike shop. Then when you got here it'd be waiting for you. I'm not sure about international shipping issues, though. Could be delays or problems associated with that. And of course, you may have reservations about sending your bike off to someone you've never met, particularly after what you've seen here on the forums.

Here's to hoping I can make it. Budget will be my restraining factor. If I can sell my car, that'll pay off the credit card debt and I can breathe a little easier.
I'll keep yall (southern for you all) posted.
