Sold the cranks with my old Enduro. Here's a shot of the Chris King headset.

I'm thinking about adding a shuttle run in this year so we can get more riding in. I'm gonna hit it today,(ride it as a loop) to see if th DH is worth the drive. If it works out we could do a shuttle run early and a loop ride in the afternoon on Sat. I'll keep ya posted.
First I 've gotta get a bike and learn to ride it.

It'll be good times fer sure. The ride I did yesterday we won't do on the forum ride. It's 10 miles of pretty hard climbing followed by the most tech decent I've ever been on.It's more like an adventure type ride with a lot of "hike a bike" sections. Very remote. Part of the skin off of my knee is still smeared on a rock and my neck is sore from stopping myself by using my helmet aginst the trail.Fun stuff. Great pics highrevs, I spent some time on that rock in the 4th pic yesterday.

UHHHHGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Looks like I won't be able to make it this time!!! My wife is doing that 3-day 60 mile walk for breast cancer awareness (I FULLY SUPPORT SAVING BOOBIES!), the weekend before. So, my thought of bringing the family and meeting you guys for a couple of the rides is OUT!
I'm keeping it in the back of my mind however. Perhaps, (doubtfull, but you never know) I may still head up with a couple of buddies.

I'm guessing that YES you would survive. You might be slower on the descents, but you'd have an awesome time!
What year 830? Is it a 1-1/8" threadless? If yes, you want a killer deal on a new fork**********

Trek is a 96, not sure about threadless fork or not.
As for my experience, not a whole lot of true trail stuff. Rode the Palmetto Trail at Fort Jackson here in Columbia some, but, nothing like what Pisgah will do to me.
Yep, I'll admit, still pretty much a noob, but am anxious to find more and better challenges.
If y'all will just kindly wait a little for me at either the bottom or the top...
What time does the Saturday portion of the ride typically start? Asheville is only a couple of hours from Columbia...
In a few years, I'll have a kid who wants to join in, but, for now, he's just 6 so I don't think this is the right trip for him.
