my creaking seatpost.

Why is it doing this...the creaking that is. It is so amazingly annoying. It creaks everytime the slightest bump is hit...which is you know, constantly. Its a CF giant seatpost in an aluminum frame. The saddle is a WTB rocket V. I have tried tightening the seatpost clamp, the seat clamp, and greasing the post. I have no idea what more to do but buy another seatpost.

anyone have any ideas?

I don't think a cf post should creak at all. Are you sure its not the bottom bracket/cranks. I had a little creak on my bike for a while, turned out it was the water bottle cage.

absolutely positive. You can get to creak just by pushing on it when your off the bike.

That said, I am afraid I might have cracked it in a crash or something...could that cause the creaking?

I have a creak in my saddle and it is just in the rails somewhere, might be that. Same sort of thing. I don't know what it could be if it were the seat post.
